On 28 August 1883 De La Rue sent a series of 2 cents stamps, all perforated 12, to suggest new colours which would fit in with
the colour scheme laid down by the International Postal Convention. This proof was used to illustrate the proposed colour for the
8 cents.

1891-92 Surcharges '6 cents' on 8 cents mauve, 2mm setting, a marginal block of 6, positions 1-3/6-8, position 1 showing '6'
double variety, mint full original gum lightly hinged on 2 stamps and margin missing in top left corner and at bottom. Very fine
and rare, unlisted in Scott and Stanley Gibbons. RPS certificate N0 19,346 not present.
