1902 (Sept.) An all around the world retour cover sent from Gibraltar to London, on front bearing Gibraltar 1886 QV 2 1/2p
ultramarine, tied by 'GIBALTAR' cds, just touching the edge of the stamp and overstruck by a single ring bisected 'VERACRUE.
VER' (Mexico) cds, on reverse with various post markings, 'LONDON/GB/4.9.02' arrival cds, redirected to Mexico, with
'MEXICO/10.10.02' transit and two 'VERACRUE.VER' arrival cds, each showing different date as '10.10.1902' and '11.10.1902',
with a faint Mexico cds. And than redirected to China, tied by bilingual 'SHANGHAI/JAN.03' transit. The recipient was not found
and returned to the sender, therefore, on front bearing a CIP Coiling Dragon 10c green, tied by 'TIENTSIN/3.1.03', this postage rate
is applied as the normal postage rate under UPU regulation, with 'SHANG-HAI/7.1.03' Fr.P.O transit. Finally, sent back to London,
with faint 'LONDON/11.2.03' arrival cds, a fascinating mailing route, taking almost half a year for the cover to finally reach the
recipient after a long journal, center folded. Photo
