The stamp itself was not cancelled either by British or Chinese authority. It was finally cancelled by Hong Kong
Post Office on arrival. On reverse with 2 different bilingual ‘SHANGHAI/23.10.21’ cancellation and ‘HONG
KONG/28.10.21’ arrival cds. Only one recorded item. Fine. Photo

in black. Shanghai served as a transit office for all the British mail from the North China Treaty Ports. The British Post
Office shared the same location with the Chinese Post Office during the period 1920 to 1922. Plus a similar 2c on piece
