1949 (15 Oct.) cover sent from Canton to Hong Kong,
franked on front with Unit stamp, Hong Kong Asiatic
print, Domestic Ordinary, Locomotive, orange yellwo
(Chan S5), tied by CANTON S.O. No.2 15.10.49 cds,
being the First Day of Re-opening of postal service after
liberation, roughly opened at top, still very fine, very
rare and very important postal history item. Photo
Canton was liberated on 14th October, 1949 and postal
service was soon resumed on the next day, i.e. 15th
October, 1949.
