1939 The 150th Anniversary Of The Constitution of the U.S.A. Commemorative issue, four die proofs in issued
colours on India surfaced papers (varying sizes) sunk on thick cards (varying sizes), each with different die number
at top:
5c green, blue & scarlet 113 x 88mm with die number 79381 on 228 x 150mm
25c deep blue, blue & scarlet 112 x 88mm with die number 79382 on 228 x 151mm
50c brown, blue & scarlet 111 x 88mm with die number 79383 on 230 x 152mm
$1 rose red, blue & scarlet 111 x 88mm with die number 79284 on 228 x 151mm
all marked "F10595" in pencil on back;
plus master die proof with flags and value tablets blank and die number 79402 at top, printed in black on India
surfaced paper (100 x 96mm), marked "3 stripped draw" and "710595" in pencil on back, previously stuck (but now
detached) on thick card (103 x 128mm) with "V79402" marked in pencil at bottom right;
and imperforate master die proof of 5c, with flags blank, printed in green on soft white paper (57 x 42mm).
The master die proof has glue toning on back perceptible from front, others fine to very fine and seldom offered with
die proofs in complete set of 4 and two master die proofs as one lot. From the M.F. Huang collection. Photo
